CRU DataPort adds new product

The DataPort 4-Bay Mini is the first small form factor subsystem from CRU.  It’s available as a standalone mini desktop storage enclosure, or configured with DataPort 25 removable drive carriers to make up to eight 2.5” HDDs portable.  It’s also the first CRU-DataPort enclosure configured to support both SAS and SATA interfaces.  New features include the ability to connect up to 4 SATA/SAS hard drives via 1 Infiniband Mulitlane 4x connector.  SAS provides dual port capability; enabling shared storage and failover support

High-performance and high capacity storage in a sleek, lightweight enclosure is what you get with the new DataPort 4-Bay Mini SAS/SATA Subsystem from CRU.  About the size of a small toaster, up to four Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) or Serial ATA (SATA) HDDs enable over four terabytes of near-line data storage!

Great for desktop RAID storage, Audio/Video applications, server storage and JBOD, the DataPort 4-Bay Mini provides a high-speed (3Gbps) upgrade path from parallel SCSI and features a ventilated swing-open front panel for easy drive access. 

Also available with hot-swap removable hard drives, the 4-Bay Mini can be configured with four DataPort 25 removable drive carriers, making up to eight 2.5” SATA HDDs or four 2.5” SAS HDDs hot-swappable.

There are four key advantages with the new 4-Bay Mini:

1) Speed; SAS and SATA both provide max transfer rates up to 3Gbps

2) Size; Up to four Terabytes in the size of a Toaster!

3) Cooling; Drives can overheat, so cooling has always been a key element in DataPort design.  The new DataPort 4-Bay Mini features two low-noise cooling fans, a large 120mm intake fan on the door and an 80mm exhaust fan in the rear.

4) End-to-End Solution:  Unlike most of our competitors, we provide external host connect cables so you can set-up your storage right away.  All four drives connect to the host via a single 1 meter, 4x Multi-Lane SAS/SATA shielded bundled cable with thumbscrew interlocks.
